The water treatment plant, situated in Yathrib District, south of Salah al-Din Governorate, plays a vital role in facilitating the natural return of residents to their homes and in restoring stability to the region. This project directly benefits approximately 30,000 people residing in Al-Bakr village, Al-Buhassan village, and Al-Buhashmah village.
The rehabilitation efforts encompass three main categories:
Civil Works: This includes site preparation, exterior wall repairs, and the application of waterproof silicone paint on interior walls and ceilings. Additionally, it involves ceiling joint repairs, replacement of damaged tiles, removal and replacement of damaged concrete walkways, substitution of damaged doors (both iron and wooden), maintenance of iron doors, installation of ceramic tiles for restrooms, and various sanitary and sewage network maintenance tasks.
Electrical Works: This section covers the provision of an electrical transformer, maintenance of key control panels, as well as sub-main electrical panels (LLP and HLP). It also involves the upkeep of electrical power panels and cables, street lighting, and the replacement of aging components like lamps, ceiling fans, and switches within the building.
Mechanical Works: This category encompasses a range of activities including the installation of the steel structure for the suction set, replacement of worn-out high lift pump sets, installation of submersible pumps, rehabilitation of sedimentation tanks, and the operation of concrete filters. Additionally, it involves the replacement of electric gates and non-return valves, maintenance of electric cranes, upgrading chlorine units (pumps, mixers, dosing systems), managing air compressors for filter backwashing, and the maintenance of the sludge skimming mechanism.
